Who is responsible

Grupo Terralta, with address at Costa Rica, is responsible for the database where we keep the information you give us. You can reach us at the details on our contact page.

What information we collect

Your name, email, phone or WhatsApp, the property or area you are interested in, your message and, if you schedule a visit, the date you prefer.

If you become a client in a purchase or sale, Costa Rican anti-money-laundering law (Law 7786) requires us to also keep your identification, address, occupation and the origin of the funds, with a form you sign.

What we use it for

To answer your inquiry, schedule visits and follow up on the property you asked about.

Only if you check the separate box: to send you listings and news. You can unsubscribe at any time.

To comply with our legal obligations as a real estate agency.

Who receives it

Our team. When a transaction moves forward, also the notary and, if needed, the other party's agency, only with what each one needs.

Our technology providers (hosting, email and WhatsApp) process the data on our behalf. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Authorities, when the law requires it.

Is it mandatory?

No. Without your name and a way to contact you we cannot answer your inquiry. The box to receive news is optional and does not affect the answer.

How long we keep it

Inquiries that do not turn into a transaction: up to two years after the last contact, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.

Information for a purchase, sale or rental: at least five years after the transaction ends, as required by Law 7786 (art. 22) and the Tax Code (art. 109). If you ask us to delete it during that time, we block it for any other use and delete it when the period ends.

Your rights

You can access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it and withdraw your consent, free of charge, by writing to the details on our contact page. We answer within 5 business days (Law 8968, art. 7).

If you believe we did not respect your rights, you can file a complaint with the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data (PRODHAB).
